ah yah nowadays you never know. So many companies with "similar" products. My setup is similar. I have a magnetic mount that works great and just did the ram mod for the oh shit handle for mounting a phone.

I like that this add a powered USB along with additional mounts. Not too sure if I like how much higher it is. I had been thinking of coming up with an idea like this when I found it. The other part I do not like is that you have to drill into the size of your radio bezel.

Actually looks exactly the same. They may not be copies but rather selling the same item. They both call it the same too. The black does look better.

Randomly found a coupon just now. LLOD gets you another $15 off at Tacoma Beast. Making it even cheaper.

I was looking at the mount we were talking about above the radio. I have a plug in on my browser that suggests codes at times and one actually worked. still debating it.

Some possible things could be CB mic, HAM, Garmin In Reach (some day down the line), my tablet for maps, camera mount and also adds a couple powered USBs right away. Im sure I can think of a few other things.

    Nice!

That's what I'll probably be doing with mine.

-Cell phone, Ham deck, hide the mobilelinkd device in it, my DMR hot spot, and a swivel mount that drops my NavCom tablet in front of my radio.

I'd also like to build a GPS device out of an Arduino that has got ability and displays the heading in degrees. That's be slick to have flush mounted with it, and real handy

How hard is it to install those mounts? I’m not very savy when it comes to wiring.

Based on reading up it does not seem to hard. Mainly tapping into a wire to power the USB. The rest would be drilling into the bezel. Said it should take 1.5 hours or so.

It took me about an hour. I took apart much more of the dash than I needed to as well. It's cake. I love mine.

Yeah, but I am having trouble getting the hotspot connected to my hotspot... if that makes sense.
