Looks like a house might not happen for a while. Talked to a lender about a mortgage this weekend and my credit "could use some work."

 

Yep. Sounds about right. Giving them a good shaming along their ride ?

Best advice I got is pay off all credit cards but keep them at a zero balance

Yeah, that's pretty much what the mortgage lady said. We might just renew the lease on the apartment and just stay until my credit is better and we can afford to break the lease and shit.

 

I feel like I'd lose money trying to hook.

 

Haha I had the opposite issue. I paid everything in cash and never use cards. Tons of auto loans and loans from the trade school. Utility bills and what not. But no credit cards. It actually hurt me when getting a loan

 

It really depends on the houseing market in ur area. Sometimes it’s better to rent if the market it shitty

 

We're trying to get out of our 500sqft apartment and into our own (bigger) place.

 

We paid everything off before getting our second house and they told us that was a mistake... but we only asked for a $250k mortgage for a 500k+ property.
