Making that holiday comp time...

 

Just got back from running 82 down the interstate.

 

We only get Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas days

We just got a GSW in the loop. He's headed to surgery as soon as the surgeon gets here. 3rd night in a row

 

We have 11 holidays, work every/other and get a comp day for when we work. 3 “super holidays” July 4th, Christmas and thanksgiving. we get a comp day and time and a half when we work those.

 

We just get time and a half for the 24hr day. So if you come in on Christmas Eve, you get 7hrs(12a-7a). If you come in Christmas day, you only get 5 hrs(7p-12a). Nightshift gets screwed on that deal.

 

We come in on holidays and get 8 extra hours of straight pay.

But we also get 8 hours straight pay if it's not our shift to work too.

 

Everything here is x2. No such thing as time & 1/2. Trick is, you gotta be below a certain number or the Tax Man has a field day on your behalf if not careful.

 

Ours is the same way. We have major and minor holidays. Minor we don’t get paid squat, but are required to work them. It’s BS

 

Luckily, they let me keep my Sun-Wed regardless. It's not really a big deal since I don't have kids or a wife.

 

Our fucking internet right now is so slow that it’s tough to get shit done in a timely fashion. Everything we do is web-based; there should be like 4-5 redundancies.
