Slept late.... till eight( up at 4:00 AM every day) . Maybe I can talk wife into going out for breakfast. A kayak trip would be nice too. We haven’t even gone out this year as a couple. She mentioned Walden Pond , but that place will be a zoo. Nice and quiet is what I want and I won’t get that there.

Oh and good morning/ night graveyarders

Woken up at 525AM by all the hard wired smoke alarms going off, checked on the boys and went to investigate not sure what set them off as there was no smoke in the house. CO detectors are separate so it wasn’t that.

They’re only 4 years old as I replaced the original ones from when the house was built in 86

Lose power at some point? I know when we lose it here in the apartment, all of them beep for a minute when it comes back on.

I've seen wired smoke detectors burning up above the baseplate set them off.

Not saying that's what happened. But, it's a place to look if you can't identify a source.

Which smoke detectors did you go with? Do they automatically test themselves?

Mother-in-law said they had an issue once or twice where it was spiders that set them off since the house was built. I went with Kidde detectors not sure if they self test. They’re only about 3.5 years old; we bought the house in late 2015 and I replaced them all.

I dooon't think Kidde makes a self testing one. And they would self test every month, I guess. Forgot you mentioned you've had them for a while.

There's the extent of my smoke detector knowledge.

My dad and gpops were both sparkies so you’d think that’d be a huge thing for me...haven’t talked to either in like 20 years so I went with what had decent reviews.

It was her house, my father-in-law built it. We bought it after he passed and m-i-l downsized. My kids get to grow up in my wife’s childhood home in a great suburban Boston town with good schools for a fraction of market value.

Well damn, hopefully he/she is alright. I suppose there's worse places to get assaulted.

She's not super injured. Cut that might get infected. But, this is the 5th or 6th this month that I know of. One of our doc's got punched and lost eyesight at the beginning of the month.
