So, apparently I've been doing my time card wrong? My supervisor (who approves the time card) hasn't said anything or corrected me though.. Supposedly I have to code everything to each shift instead of all on one. I've been coding my 12hr shifts as 12hrs of mids but I'm supposed to do 8hrs of mids and 4hrs of swings/days depending on if I come in early or hang late.

Which is stupid, I'm still coming in for a mid shift why should I code the last four hours as days and not get shift diff? Or code the first four as swings and get less shift diff?

I'm not changing how I do it until the supervisor says something about it. And if they try to recoup that then they can put it on him for approving it without looking at it or whatever he's doing.

That's what we have to do....8 hours on mid and any over time is poor under which ever shift I work over on. Shift diff is the same for us no matter if it is swings or mids

Ah, swings is 6% I think and mids is 10% for us. I still think it's silly that if I come in for a 12 mid and work 11pm-11am, the last four hours don't get shift diff just cause they fall during everyone else's normal hours. Those are the worst four hours of the shift lol.

We already don't get paid enough lol.
I went back on my time cards and I've been doing it all year for my 12s and my 10s. I know he's had to do my time for me/fix my time a couple times but they're all done the same way I've been doing it so maybe it's not wrong?
