Yeah, that's gotta suck. I need to service my spare at some point. I haven't touched it/looked at it in a hot minute.. :anonymous:

That looks like a pretty clean topper.

Ya it does look pretty clean. I currently have a hard cover that came with the truck. I like it because it locks and my ice house does fit inside. But I'd like the shell because of all the extra room it would provide. I know those LEER toppers aren't cheap, plus I love the way the truck looks with a real topper on it.

I think the topper would look a lot better and be a whole lot more functional.

Yeah, I always liked toppers for the extra room and such. I have a Diamonback on mine right now but I got a sweet deal on it. Toppers are too expensive for me right now.

The only justification I can make for buying it right now is that I get paid 3 times this month. I guess that picture isn't quite the current setup, I put a set of stock 3rd gen TRD OR bilstiens on it.

I don't think I could justify one as I have a locking cover and the PnL which is all I need. The topper would just be a bit handier, I suppose. I also don't have anywhere to store a topper if I ever had to take it off for something.

I don't care about mis-matched colors, but where I'm located they don't come up very often, and when they do, they are still over a grand.

I think the "windoors" hinge up so you can grab stuff from the sides. I feel like I would break my fishing rods trying to get them out of the sides. With both of the trucks I've owned, I don't think I've ever felt the need to try to grab something from the side of the bed.

Ohhhh, that is way more practical. I don't think I knew that was an option.

you could also look for a contractor cap which is aluminum and has windoors/storage boxes. Im just jumping into your conversation, so I dont know whats going on..

But I used to have a contractor cap. This is/was my setup:

I've seen the contractor ones before, I just didn't know they had ones where the windows themselves flipped up. We were just talking about how toppers are cool and how one popped up by @mrfish1991

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure they are very practical...I just don't thing I would the windoors. Most of the use in my bed is for fishing gear (7 foot long rods or and ice house) and they would be impossible to get out of the sides.

No worries about jumping in. I like seeing all angles and how people use them. I really like being able to see out my back window and I don't think an aluminum cap would allow me to do that. But big props to you finding a great picture of a super white, with the same wheels I have, and basically being everything I want my truck to be down the road.

Well I read your post wrong...I thought you said it "wasn't your truck"...my bad. Looking at it again, you were one of the reasons I bought the level 8 wheels, the bronze looks amazing on a white truck. I love the build and hope I can build mine into something similar some day.

I might be wrong, but I seem to remember you posting some pictures of your rig in your driveway with the level 8s about 2 years ago.
