If it were old school mechanical I would take a stab at it but it’s all the new electronic shit that you need diagnostic tools for.

I get to ride in the passenger seat today. Haha. Got one of the guys that went to a trucking school that got busted for bribing the state examiners and after having a CDL for 4 years he’s going to have to take the driving test again so he’s getting some driving time in with me. State is going back and everyone that went through that school is having to retest no matter how long they’ve been out.

 

Went to turn on the heater in the camper the other night and the damn thing wouldn’t light. Going to be investigating that here shortly. Hope it’s just some carbon buildup or the igniter pins got separated too far. Maybe the sail switch. Who knows till I can get in there and see. Put a full tank on it so it’s not the gas not getting there. The stove right next to it lights up fine so the gas is flowing.

That'd be dirty if they want everyone to retest but aren't gonna pay for it.

 

He said state is covering the test for them. That would suck to have to pay another $100 again.

 

Yeah, that would blow but it sounds like some shit the gov would do. "You all have to re-certify but we're not paying for it."

there’s some trick to sequence the dials into diagnostic mode. but I think it’s beyond self-diagnosis as this thing is made of cheap plastic pieces that sound like they’re grinding. Just bought it in aug 2018 replacing a 20yo machine. Certainly don’t make em like they used to.

 

What’s the washer doing?

Five years later... New Bond movie.

 

drain pump was busted; with the sound of the new one, I suspect it was messed up all along. We just thought it was naturally noisy. The mechanicals only had a 1 year warranty; some other parts 10 years. Didn’t read the fine print. it was one of the Highest rated in its price range on consumer reports that would fit through the tight door opening.
$340 later and we’re good to go for now.
