Off tonight. Good news, job opening posted for a partner position. Bad news, once he/she is up to speed I'll be on weekend rotation.

Checking in ... Not much snow at my house 30 miles north, but accumulating pretty well down here (base/Anchorage). Looks like the system is running about 12-18 hrs behind the initial forecast.

Well, some knucklehead left some chilled ration tubs out of the reefer, determining how long they've been out now. 3 of us on tonight, so I've got the guy working that mission holding off on planning the cargo until the folks downstairs figure it out. Let me knock this other mission out right quick, then engage mode.

 

Watching another batch of rain getting ready to roll through......

 

Yup, dead slow here now.

That knucklehead leaving chilled rations out kills that mission ... Can't send a plane out to remote radar site empty ... can't send potentially spoiled rations with potential to make somebody sick out there ... Bob's will be pissed at the Monday morning quarterback meeting.

I've seen flat beds full of MREs sitting out in the July sunshine. You know the MREs that say store in a cool dry place

 

Well I can see that happening and I know what you mean. This isn't the same stuff; it's actual produce, milk, eggs, in big insulated tubs. Supposed to go from reefer on acft, off acft, back into reefer. Tubs sat in warehouse with lids off for 9 hrs ...

Near as I can make out, food inspectors came to check on the food because mission has weather slipped a couple days. Our folks got occupied out on the flight line and another warehouse location, food inspectors left without saying anything to anyone (and leaving tubs open--couldn't even put lids back on) ... putting tubs back in reefer got lost in the shuffle some how.

Last summer, my company had to dispose of 4, over seas containers of bottled water. Someone decided these steel containers would be a good place to store the water that we bought by the pallet. No one thought about how hot these containers get when left in the sun.

All the Poly biphenols got baked out of the the plastic bottles. The water tasted and smelled like PVC pipe.

We had to hire a crew of 4 guys to cut open the bottles, drain the bottles and recycle the plastic. Took them 3 days.
