Not too bad. Only a couple missions for tomorrow; did some advance planning for Friday's missions. Quiet now ... have some CBT training crap to do, but I'm procrastinating ... I hate that stuff.

    How's it there?

It has been pretty quiet here tonight, except for one gentleman who doesn't want to sleep, and he is a fall risk so he is sitting here beside me "helping" me do paperwork lol

    Thx for the info!

Slow and steady here tonight. Got the "big boy" running. 9.5 tons of chromoly steel just sitting on the table. Slowely spinning. Lol. It's rather nerve wracking knowing its not bolted down.

OK ... 40 some years (seriously doubt I make it that far...but hey ;) ), and cute as a button is a long stretch.

    Any time brother.

 That's like when we winch 12 ton C-17 engines (on transport trailers) into C-17s ... always wondering if the cable is gonna break. Can't help but be a little nervous with stuff that size. That weight and energy is going somewhere if anything gives.

I used to have some pics in my gallery, I'll go look for them.

I guess we kinda get complacent being/working with stuff that size.
When I was training for this job a few years back and taking my level 2 advanced crane classes, they were telling us how we were supposed to "upright" these parts with the 60 ton OH crane with both hooks because they come in on the trucks laid down on shipping pallets.
I was like "you have to be joking".
Now its like, you throw a couple 20k straps on it, flip it, drop it on the table, select prog, hit run.
    All in about 30 mins.

    I'm working I swear! :D

It's slow so I've been rocking out some Kerbal Space Program via remote desktop on my home computer.

(Click on the picture to watch the video since TW doesn't allow iframes...)

It was a bit of a pucker moment as I overshot my landing area (the valley). Since the atmosphere is so thin on this planet (analogous to Mars) parachutes don't trigger until 1950m ASL or so when the atmosphere is thick enough and the terrain can easily go above that. .

Edit: Jump to 2:20 in the video right before the landing.

Yeah I was running experiments in the upper and lower atmospheres as I was going down. In the game mode I'm playing in I use science to satisfy achievements/contracts as well as using the science points to research and unlock new tech for different rockets, science experiments to run, and stuff like solar panels and ion engines.

I sent a scientist "kerbalnaut" as they're called down and it's a basic one-person lander so without a pilot kerbalnaut there's no automatic stability which means I have to try and stabalize it all manually which is a bit of a pain and nearly impossible (which is why it spins and bounces around a bit). I can unlock a 2-man lander though with more science but it's heavier and thus more complicated to get to other planets/moons.

Here's the lander docked to the command ship.
