I probably should have went to counseling or something but at the time
I was kind of new and didn’t want to seem like a pussy that couldn’t do the job.

Always sucks when there’s a death man. I’ve been to and seen plenty. It’s never fun, my first was a suicide car v tree. I’ll never forget it.

Deaths are fine with me even suicide, they wanted or expected to die. Kids are a whole different story, especially when the person they trust the most is the one responsible. That boy got in that truck because he thought momma was going to take care of him.

I damn sure would pick something different if I really wanted to end it. I'd be afraid I'd wreck and end up a quad or a vegetable.

I saw an 80 year old man swallow a 357 because his family was going to put him in a home. They were all there discussing it and he excused himself to the restroom. We intubated him and kept him alive for a bit. It wasn’t till later that I found out they were family friends of my in-laws

Where do yours mount? Bed cubby, gas hole, or is it a universal type kit where you cut to length?

I’ve been in FD since 2011 and EMS since 2002 I’ve seen more than most normal people will see in their entire life.

Latest one was a 75 y/o woman that was being taken care of by her son. She was being eaten alive by maggots, weighed 50lbs, had hips ripped through the skin and feces all over her. He’s going to prison. The house this all happened in was where my mother in law was raised. In her day it was a million dollar home.
