Yeah I bought my 2012 TRD new in Hawaii for just over 30k, ended up being deployed so much I paid it off in two years (thanks for paying your taxes), then sold it. When I started looking for a new one I was blown away by the prices. I couldn't find a similarly equipped new one for under 40k, most of what I wanted was over 45k. I'll never buy new again.

Yeah, the Jeep I got was brand new 2012 JK. Prob ~$22k? Didn't put shit down on it or get anything from my trade-in. Credit was shit. Ended up paying $4xx a month on it plus insurance and everything. Then I put $10k of mods into it instead of principle. I was such a dumbass kid lol. I'd have been so much better off if I just kept my '03 Grand Am instead of getting that damned Jeep.

Considering truck prices and gas prices, this'll probably be the last truck I own unless a cheaper EV truck comes around. Been looking at the Hybrid RAV4s and the RAV4 Prime and I'm thinking something like that will be what replaces this truck.

Yeah my wife wants one of those new RAV4s. I told her she's on her own or I'm going to have to start charging her rent to make ends meet.

Haha, I priced one out not long ago and it was under $35k for a Hybrid RAV4 with the winter package so that's not bad in my eyes, especially with fuel savings.
The wife's car is going to be the one that needs replacing first though... Got plenty of time with the truck left before I have to worry about replacing it.

I got the 2017 OR fully loaded with JBL sound system, the bed cover, and an extended 100k warranty for zero down $36K 0.09% financing. My payoff is like $18K right now. And that’s only because I reduced how much I was paying being unemployed. I don’t understand how people get into those situations. This was my dream truck and I drove a paid off shitbox for years and years until I found the perfect truck and waited until the fall sales when the new model year was coming out.

allll this and I am horrible with money. One of the worst you’ll meet. If I am not in that situation, there’s no excuse.
