Pulled the front clip, and removed the Engine/ Transmission from the C10 tonight after work.

Its quite possible I broke my finger in the process but hey, that much closer to having the 454 built and installed now.

Same shit different day. Work, sleep, repeat.
Beer league should start back up this week so that'll be nice.

    Well shit.

What goes into the upgrade? I'm still iffy on shelling out extra for the z23s. Not sure I really need the upgrade. :notsure:

Basically just swapping the Tacoma calipers, rotors, and pads for Tundra stuff. Little bit of trimming on the dust shield, and adding a hard brake line to adapt the two to each other. I'll probably be lazy and just buy the kit.

Gotcha, well hopefully it wasn't one of the important fingers and it heals up nice.

Gotcha, that doesn't sound too bad. Pretty straightforward, especially if there's a kit.
I'm either doing straight OEM replacement or the slight upgrade to the Z23 kit.

Yeah it really shouldn't be bad at all. I was planning to find calipers at a pick and pull and rebuild them to save money, but at this point I'm leaning towards just ordering the kit so it's waiting for me when I get home. Either way, I need to do something. Even if it's just replacing all the stock Tacoma stuff, I've had a couple frightening moments... I'm not sure if you could make it work on a second gen.

I think if I order the stuff today it'll get here next week and then I can borrow a jack/stands from someone local to get it done next weekend. I haven't had any real scares or anything but I can feel/hear it grinding the rotor when I brake hard. I know it's just that one caliper/pad so I'm not super worried. I just need to get em done. Put it off for too long already.

Sounds like a good plan. I’m going to order a bunch of stuff while I’m on the road, then go home and do breaks/timing belt/grill/coil overs/other(?) all at once. I still have my Jeep, and WA has a pretty good tool loan thread On here for all the specialty items. After that I should be good for awhile.

Not sure if we have a tool loan thread on here but we have a local Tacoma group on FaceBook that I'll ask in.
