the thing is I recently turned down 5 jobs. 3 days and 2 nights.
With the son in college the extra cash is tough to pass up.
this jobs pays very very well. I just don't want to take a $25k pay cut right now.
My wife is extremely supportive of me working the crappy hours but she just doesn't understand how lousy I feel.
She is really the best and does so much for me.
If she ever in the truck while I was drive home after day 4 or 5 of 14+ hour night shifts she would sheet her pants.
Plus I am tired of not watching the Avs live.

The night shift definitely pays better but I have missed out on a lot in life because of working nights. As soon as you can get off of it, do it!

i was looking forward to my one day off per week but i was asked this morning to come in on sunday. I couldn't pass it up, sunday is double pay. we all stopped off for a couple of libations after work but I got enough gas to make this shift.

I have only had one day off during this job. It looks to be winding down though as there are sporadic lay offs and the scope of work is reducing every day. I am not sure about this weekend, I have headr rumors of working both sunday and monday, alright by me, both are double pay days and would pay for almost two months mortgage in those two days alone. If not and I am indeed off one or both of those two days then perhaps some grilling and some adult beverages, would also make it a point to go out to my old man's grave at the lincoln national cemetary.

At most I would say one more full week of work until I get chopped from this job, then it would be just siting for a couple months until the refineries start going down. Would like to do some camping with the old lady and get"reacquainted" a little bit. Perhaps a national park or something of the like.
