In that first gen with big tires they look like toys. I love the look just not practical for me. A 16 year old boy, it’ll work fine

No doubt. I've never driven a 4cyl, but I wouldn't imagine it would get away from him...…………….hell the 4.0 wouldn't really do it

I haven’t really driven one spiritedly either but the single cab weighs about half of what the others weigh

    Lol. The 4cyl isn't bad...

As long as she's empty and you're going downhill with the wind to your back..

180 hp in that tiny single cab really isn’t much different in 280 in the damn full size double cab that I drive. Towing is supposed to be 3500 on that tiny truck

I had a regular cab short bed 95 Ram back in the day, thing had a small lift, 33s and the 360 in it. Thing was indestructible until the door rust wouldn’t pass State inspection.

Mopar rust is a real thing. That’s what makes the old ones worth so much money. If you find one rust free you have a gold mine.

All bullshit aside I’m also looking at insurance on a 16 year old. 17 year old mini truck with a 4 banger and 180k miles. Probably doesn’t get better than that.

My wife has the same truck, only in black. She loves it. I'm not a real big fan. The short wheel base makes the ride a bit choppy. She is only 5'4" so it fits her fine. My 5' 9" doesn't care for trips over 20 miles with the thing. The boy is gonna love it.

It is fun as hell in the trails. The 4 cylinder has plenty of pep, so I don't think anyone can complain it being under powered.

I thought about the ride being rough but then I remembered being 16. None of that matters as long as there’s gas in the tank

The only thing I expect from my truck is to be able to pull things. I don't care about speed.
That's one good thing about AL, not much rust unless you leave the mud caked on

At this point, as long as it gets me A to B, I don't care.

TBH, if I could afford it, I'd move to something with better MPG and AWD/4WD. (RAV4)
Still cheaper to keep the truck til she dies at this point though.

I offered him my ‘14 dcsb. He said he wanted an older single cab truck. Really saved me a lot of money.

I've been looking at the Highlander's or the Venza's. I'd love an SUV, but the wife is a truck person, so I guess I'm a truck person.
