He can talk to them. he might not be able to fully sign up for DEP until he is 16 but they can start him down the right track. or recommend classes that will help him if he does choose a career path.

But don't romanticize combat, had too many friends that did, they come back different, they're still them, but, there's something hanging out inside their head too that won't go away.

My father was artillery Officer on an ROTC scholarship. Thus I grew up on many different Marine bases, it's a tough life for the family.

I got more or less indoctrinated, was all romantic about being a grunt was all signed up to go but alas it wasn't ment to be for me, was T boned by a drunk driver at 9am on my way to the recruiter to board the bus, slipped two discs, Marine Corp didn't want me after that. Would have been going in as an e2 thanks to my JROTC background.

Probably a good thing but damn if I still can't shake the desire to go sling lead for the Red White and Blue, don't let him regret not trying, but strongly advise a MOS that doesn't start with 03xx

He'll be fine, and will get a good college education out of it if he does it right.

 

For his ages he’s a bad little dude. Won several gold medals in jiu jitsu in Houston. At the same time he’s the most tinder hearted boy ever. He was sad for the guys he beat because he knew how it felt when he was beat before.

Lucky. I'm still too new in this department to have better days off. You get 3 day weekends?

 

...HOW?!

 

But then you don't get a weekend! lol

We used to do 4/3 but we're doing 5/2 still because of Covid. Sucks but hopefully it'll change back soon.

 

My schedule is complicated. I basically work 3 days with a day off in between each and 4 days off after

Everyone West of California, sure.

 

Level of tiredness where my legs start getting restless. I’ve been nodding off at my desk for the past hour or so. I’ve tried coffee, walking around, cold water on the face etc. still tired af

 

12 hour shifts, rocking the 3-2-2-3 rotation so every other weekend I get fri, sat, sunday off

 

I never know what day it is. Just that I have three more to go.
