Not really.

I never use ours. We are always hooked to 120v. It's just easier to turn on an electric space heater.

 

Well only thing I can think of is it’s either the sail switch or the board. Rest is mechanical so not really anything there to break. Damn thing hasn’t been run enough to bother cleaning the orfice yet. Hell probably be easier to just replace the orfice rather than clean the damn thing. Lol


Way I figure with the lifetime warranty I let go is by now I would have spent $600 on their yearly “service” on it and I can buy a heater for that to replace the one in it. Told my wife by the time it needs something I’d probably of spent more than if I just bought stuff and replaced it myself.

Where's our Radio experts at? Got a question.
Is there any discernable difference between a GMRS radio antenna and the OEM Radio Antenna? I don't use the AM/FM radio and have had the antenna off almost since I bought the truck. Wondering if I could make a new wiring setup and just connect a GMRS to it for a clean discrete look.
I have issues with my CB setup (faulty Cobra CB won't transmit) and am considering jumping into GMRS as that seems to be the way everyone's moving towards.

 

I know nothing about radios other than 5g causes the covid.

 

GMRS is basically a light version of HAM. You pay a 1 time fee for the license with no test(I think it's $40). I'm not sure if making an am/fm antenna work is possible.

Yes there is. Radio antenna is VHF and GMRS is UHF, two different set of frequencies. You also have the wrong connection on your radio cable (Motorola style plug) for GMRS it will have a UHF connection or SO-239 on the radio itself. The radio antenna won't work because of it's length. A 1/4 wave 2m (VHF) antenna is 19" long. A 1/4 wave UHF (GMRS) antenna is 6" long. Now that doesn't mean you can't remove the radio antenna and put another mount in it's place. It may take some ingenuity but anything is possible. Or you can pop a 3/4" hole in the room and put a NMO connector up there and be set for anything you'll ever use (best option).

You do need a license to run GMRS and it's good for 10 years. It will run you $70 for the license with no test.

Nope, they gonna get their money every 10 years just like a ham license. Except our will be going up to $50 instead of $15 next time.
