Just making cereal here, quiet night so far

 

Been on nights since the 4th. Had last Sunday off. Looks like we're almost halfway done lol, hoping something goes wrong and adds a couple more weeks. This OT is building my truck

 

Up at 12 AM can't sleep no more. On Day shift now, 7 AM to 3:30 PM. Been on days for 3 days. Trying to adjust the sleep schedule. I'm tired. Got home at 3:30 PM, went to bed at 5:30 PM. So, shifting schedules sucks, been through it many times. At almost 59, it's harder to adjust.

Was on 8 PM to 4 AM shift the last year, for sure not the first in the last 18 years at my work. 4 AM start, 6 AM start, 9 AM start, 12 AM start, 3:30 PM start 8 PM etc. Getting a call working days at 4 AM: "Frank got into a accident, can you start nights tonight for 6 months"?
That stretched into 3 years nights.

Good thing is the wife of 31 years and I will have day shift schedules only 30 min off perfect harmony. Been 20 years since this happened. Yes, harmony because she is off Mon-Fri, I'm off Sun-Mon. I still have a man day. These days to go to the doctor and be able to watch a movie I want to watch. She is the best thing thing to ever happen to me.

Life is good. Health and blackout windows to you true workers and bloodsuckers who keep the machines running in the dim of the night. LOL, never know, might be back in 2 months.

Haha everyone always asks, so no, thats not me, its just the first pic that made me chuckle when I was picking an avatar.

 

Mine too, ha. Suspension on order, tires next week and a few other miscellaneous things.

But this may be the last week of ot for me.

 

Well, paying off the bike first, but a chunk of every check is going towards my final build. Just need tires and fiberglass fenders now, ordering those at the end of the month, and then saving up for the build labor costs. Good thing weve got a big bonus coming this year .

 

Nice. I used my bonus towards the suspension, but i just got a recent raise which is gonna help the rest of the year. And have a promotion coming up in a couple of months.

Then mods for the bike will come.

 

Oh yeeaaa we are getting a 3% raise this year as well, i think it turns in to another dollar an hour or so. So a couple grand extra per year doesnt hurt . I'm basically paying off the ZX10R so I can trade it in for a cruiser. The sport bike is super fun, but I get to stupid on it and it hurts my back when commuting. Should have just bought a Raider in the first place.

 

Thats what my raise essentially equated to ($1 extra/hr).

Boo, cruiser. Im trying to sell my cbr so i can buy a grom. Plus i enjoy my supermoto 10x more than the cbr on the streets so i ride it everywhere instead.

 

Meh, I had a warrior back in the day and loved it, but got lazy on the maintenance and wanted something faster so I sold it for a liter bike. If I can find another warrior somewhere I'll get it. Raced many a crotch rocket on it before, heres what I told each one, "I'll smoke you off of the line, and I'll get to 60 mph or 3rd gear before you pass me" have yet to lose that bet lol. The Raider is 1800ccs and still gets about 40 mpg and the test drive had me loving it, but I'm not sure if I liked the extra rake up front or not

 

I could see myself getting an adv bike when im older. Those things look pretty comfy for how long they get ridden

 

I considered a dual sport as well, but when I tried to sit on one I could barely get my leg up and over the seat because of all the gear bags on it, wasnt a huge fan.
