Just one extra shift that'll technically count towards next week's hours, I think...

OT? That's the normal schedule at my work... 65 hours a week every week. Man it pays to be essential.

Joking aside, good for you, extra pay is nice during the holidays.

Most people here have schedules like that. I told them no. Weekend is the only time I get with my wife.
Normally I'd have told them no this time too but my wife is busy this weekend anyway so I figured I might as well.

Being essential blows. I'd love a free vacation. Or some of these nice covid-inspired schedules some of these people are getting. They extended our week because of covid and somehow that makes sense.

I'm still wet enough behind the ears that I don't get the option of setting my schedule. I get weekends off for family still at least.

Company I work for gave everyone a temporary two dollar raise for the first couple months of covid thanks to the government help for essential businesses or something like that.

Ah. The only time I pull OT is if they desperately need it or if my counterpart takes vacation and I have to cover.
We got ~$500 back in March for working during covid or something like that. :notsure:

At least something is better than nothing. Rarely they have us work an extra day if something big breaks or if we're far behind on production for the month. Makes for a nice take home on those weeks, but stinks only getting one day off. Especially on an overnight schedule where "day" off is a loose term.

We used to have a nice 4/3 schedule but they changed it to 5/2 with the rona. 2 days off is barely a weekend on nights as it is. One day off definitely doesn't count.

Production guys at my work get 4/3, which I'm sure they like. I'm part of the "fix it" crew and we work 5/2 and use that extra day to really go through any machinery/bigger items that need more than an hour to fix.

I got a text asking if I could work yesterday. I'm at the point I want to do my 8 and then leave that place behind. They took away our cashing out ETO, so I'm not inclined to help out anymore. I hate it for my coworkers, but I'm still bothered by the companies decision to take away from us.
