Yeah, I can see why you couldn't want to do that. A PS4 would be cool. What about a PS VITA or mobile games on your phone?

I used to have a vita. Thing sucked, no good games.

I have a gameboy emulator on my phone. With all the original pokemons (red, blue, yellow, silver, and gold). Fun times when i play those

I have some fond memories of that original black/white (yellow) Gameboy screen, then they came out with the Gameboy color, and that really changed things. I still miss some of the 8bit games on my original NES, but still can't figure out how I managed to use that brick controller so well.

Never played a nes. A little before my time.

I still have my last generation gameboy (the black/white aka yellow), gameboy color, and advance somewhere. With all the cartridge games i had. Color made everything much nicer.

I'm in the same boat. One man unit, off to the side of the refinery that no one comes to. Waiting to see who retires first, if dude at another unit retires like I think he is next month, i get his job in the control room that has a signal booster. If he doesnt, then Im installing one in this control room lol. Days I'm usually to busy to do much more than stare at my phone for a few minutes. Nights, however, I bring along my kindle, and bought a Nintendo 3DS for the super bored nights. Finally getting around to playing all the Zelda games lol.

One guy at work bought a 3ds before he went back to the office as well. I cant stand the "3d" screen. Hurts my eyes concentrating on it

Yea I turn it off. I got the 3DS XL for the larger screens. I can stand the 3D at the lowest setting for about 5 minutes before I get a headache. At the highest setting its like watching Seizurebots lol

I can't stand most of the newer games that come out for most systems now. The last games I played on PS4 was Destiny, SW: Battlefront and Dishonored. I switched and did Fallout 4 on the PC. I miss the early days of Final Fantasy, and Dragon Warrior (Now called Dragon Quest).

I played destiny for a while till the 2nd expansion. Game still sucked at that point, ive heard the newest one is good though with entire change of gameplay. I just wont give them more money cause i already had spent 90 on a garbage game.

Fallout 4 is the latest game i play. Disappointed in it as well, but at least its a game i can play on my own time and it doesnt require online.

I've only been working nights for almost 2 years, I love my environment at work on nights but anyone have tips on being a dad/husband the rest of the week?

They sleep on a completely different schedule but when I do with them it feels like my body is confused

I sleep in the afternoons as I function best at night when I've slept for a few hours before. I don't do well sleeping during the day when the kids are at school. My wife and I are like two ships passing in the night, but we can't do much about that with our present schedules. I could try to sleep during the day, but I don't function as well that night when I do that. Weekends I usually stay up until late afternoon on Saturday after I get off work in the AM so I can spend time with the family, Sunday I start to transition to my normal schedule so I can start all over again. I'm seriously thinking about switching my sleep schedule (sleep in morning, wake in afternoon and night) this week, but I still have appointments that throw that into chaos. The reason for the switch is so I can help my wife and kids more during the evenings, then head to work. Probably will take me at least a month or more to get used to that schedule.

Consistency is key in trying to have a "normal" schedule/life. If you bounce around too much you won't get anywhere and you'll be miserable and feel "off"

Prior to this I worked for 5 years working nights, but the only way I survived was keeping the same schedule, even on weekends.

I also had to set my room up (then, and now) so i could sleep better and "trick" my body into sleeping.

    Blackout curtains (bathroom and bedroom)
--Bathroom has one layer along with horizontal blinds
--Bedroom has two layers along with horizontal blinds, along with spring clamps to hold the curtain along the sill to keep them in place.

Limo tint (two layers on bedroom window)
Blackout/noise reducing curtains on door from hallway to master bedroom.
    Ear plugs

    Sound machine:

    http://www.amazon.com/Marpac-DOHM-D...016&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=sound+machine&psc=1

This is the best sound machine I have used. I used to use my iPhone, as well as a digital sound machine, but the digital would pick up signals from the phone and make weird noises. The DOHM version also comes in black, has a fan inside, and you can adjust the noise by a baffle on top and the sides. It is excellent and I highly recommend it.

Im back for 5 days this week too. But I get a nice 2 day break on wed and thursday. The 3 days in a row kill me, especially on a weekend.

All Ive been doing is stalking/tracking my lift, and looking for more things to buy..

Nice, taking a week or just a few days?

Gonna try. Shitty thing is ill lose them if i end up working. Itd be nice just to have two days to recover before switching back to days and since ive only had 4 days off the past two months.
