Sup Phil? I am just killing time & surfing on my night off. Stood in line twice today at Academy & scored 500 rounds of 9mm for .35 a round....seems like a hollow victory:infantry:

Evening everyone. Trying to kill some time while at work. It's been a strangely "uneventful" week at work. We've had 2 major snow storms come through Mississippi (and the South in general). Roads are still covered in a snow/ice. We warm up this weekend and finally get rid of Satan's white dust.

Lucky you. This has been one BS week with the cold and snow.

I'm over winter. It needs to be summer. Where it's hot, humid, and plenty of scantily cladded bodies (whatever might tickle your fancy lol).

I'm not a cold weather fan. I like winter/cold weather for about 2 weeks. After that, time to warm up.

    Though on another note:

One of the lieutenants I work used to be an officer in Dauphin Island, AL. He was telling me about the island and his time there. I got to looking at Google Maps, and I have an inkling to make a weekend trip down to the island, take the ferry over to Fort Morgan, and see some of the area. Fam and I have gone to Orange Beach past 2 years, but never over to Dauphin Island. I'd just like to make the drive over the causeway bridge to the island. Think it would be fun.

Closes thing I have the Hernando Desoto bridge in Memphis. For whatever that is worth.

I've always wanted to do the Lake Pontchartrain bridge.

Probably been 15-20 years ago since I was last in NOLA. But one of the longest bridges I've ever been on was the Atchafalaya Bridge over same river basin. If you get to Lafayette, LA, go south on some state highway to Avery Island, LA. That's the same location as the McElheney's Tabasco Sauce. Cost probably $2-5 dollars to "park and tour" the plant. Shows a quick video on this McElheney's history and how Tabasco got it's start. There is also a wildlife/bird sanctuary there. It's really neat place for such a cheap price.

I've never been to NOLA. Being in that Mardi Gras crowd never appealed to me.

I agree to an extent with you. I'm not a huge fan of crowds. However, I would like to attend Mardi Gras just once just to say I have. And if you've never been to NOLA, I suggest to go (whenever COVID allows). They have a really wonderful aquarium. And there was a WW2 museum down there (if you're into history). Very unique!

Nope, never been. The museum sounds cool. I prefer getting in the mountains when I get the chance to get away, so I usually go that way.
