I've been looking at 2 door Rav4's It'd be perfect for running the 5 miles to/from work

 

Cheap to own and cheap to use.

 

I didn't even know they made a 2 door. I don't even know what I was looking at to have seen it

 

I'm looking at a Highlander 4 cylinder. Cheap to run. We bought from the owner with a blown head gasket.

 

I saw one of these 2-door 1990s RAVs for sale on eBay; It was somewhere in Southern California. It was a front-wheel drive 5-speed model in really good condition with lower miles; Unfortunately, it did not have A/C...

I didn't even realize you could get a RAV4 without A/C!

 

I assume those things get good MPG's. I looked at the Rav4, it was 24/29, so much better than the Tacoma

 

I don't know anything about them. I don't know that I've ever even seen one up close

 

Very reliable, but the 1st Gens are getting harder and harder to find...

 

I didn't think you could buy any vehicle these days without air.

 

I'm talking about a 1996-2000 model, the original; Pretty sure air was standard in the 2nd Gen...

 

I just checked the FB marketplace. Saw 8 97-00's 4wd's, but no 2 doors. They were under $3500 and looked to be in decent shape.

 

Do you want manual or automatic? 2005 was the last year you could get a stick shift, at least in America...

 

No preference since I'd only drive it 5 miles to/from work, but I don't think I'd ever go back to DD'ing a standard. I had enough in the 9yrs of my TJ
