Workin' the graveyard lol

 

Been working graveyard for nearly 13 years. No desire to go to days. As @MQQSE puts it too many reindeer games! Had a short stint on days a couple years ago, ended badly! I currently work for JLL in a Amazon delivery station. Not a bad job, very good pay, excellent benefits!

 

Currently working the graveyard been a bit of a long night

 

Double fatal TC earlier on the fwy. Wow that was heavy.

 

So flipping tired can't wait to enjoy my one day weekend.

 

Does working graveyards keep you guys restless on days you’re not working?

 

Just came off nights beginning of this year, after 10+ years of it. I adapted better when I was in my 20s, but as time went on, not being on a consistent sleep schedule suddenly started taking a HUGE toll on my body and mind. Blood pressure shot up(partially due to shitty graveyard diet), always restless. During the day I was tired but my brain said "you gotta get stuff done", and couldnt sleep well on my days/nights off because my body thinks it's time to go to work. Worked slightly better when I was able to hermit myself and have no social life at all in my off-time. But that's not conducive to productivity or quality of life.

As much as I dislike my daytime job now, it's still better than working nights, especially on an inconsistent schedule.

 

Makes me irritable when I’m awake at a time I’m normally sleeping for night shift. Rotating shift isn’t easy.

 

Durring my off days if I dont plan it right I can have sleepless nights. With having 2 kids and being a single dad that rarely happens. The kids keep me awake enough durring the day with 1 two hour nap i am normally fine.
