Eh, I'm not working nights tonight but my kiddo has been running a 103° fever all day so I'm staying up with her. Besides, I would have normally been waking in about 45 minutes.

 

Christmas Eve for a few hours at least.

eh Mine's only 1.5x. But I get a spare holiday to use whenever I want.
I have no choice in the matter either - it's my regular shift :/.

 

Double time and a half x 2, plus the 1st off so paid off holiday. Gonna be a nice check. I'm thinking exempt for the first check of the year

I'm off Christmas Eve and night but our courts are celebrating the holiday Monday so we are getting a comp day for working Monday night. Similar with New Years, have the eve off but working the night of the 1st and 2nd, making 2 comp days. Unfortunately no $ for OT.

 

Yes? I get enough OT hours they tax the shite out of me, so a couple big checks a year 'll set for like 99 withholding. This year I'll probably do it just on the first check and then wait for a turnaround to do a couple more. There's a guy that adjusts his withholdings every check to maximize his money, gets almost nothing back from his refund check but the numbers come out to more money gained in the end than full taxes and getting a refund.

I tried to do the math once and it hurts my head. I just keep my withholdings at like 1 throughout the year and occasionally take a tax free check for myself and I get plenty back

I would too but the wife is one of those "I love a big refund" types which I never see, so I just dip in to my own taxes a couple times a year for a little extra cash for my truck addiction and she still gets that big check at the end of the year lol
