HAH! Yeah, like I was saying earlier, all this rain stirred some shit up. Vendor was in here earlier talking about Silica molecules not breaking down until it gets in the boiler blah blah blah, Fix it bro, before you lose your contract. Your job is to literally give us chemicals to stop this kind of shit from happening.

I mean, I get it, because for the last 100 years this refinery has been dumping and polluting the area with zero fucks given. But now they come so heavy handed at us, and this company fuckin bends over backwards to try to keep in regs, but still.

 

Our DO is still low, I'm running that twice a shift. Like I said above, dude said it's something stirred up at our water source that's to small to get filtered out, and when it hits the boiler it breaks down into High Range silica. Sounded legit, but its kinda funny that none of the shit we test at any point is showing any sort of Silica, except our boiler. And it just so happens the vendor that JUST took over the contract and switched all the chemicals is the one telling us its not them. Hmmmm.

 

?huh?. I am in the Union. I dislike how it protects pieces of shit, and alot of the issues that have sprung up and I've brought to a union rep get shrugged off. WTF does my $100 a month go if I can't even get some shit fixed that's effecting me and my "Union brothers". Oh wait, that term doesn't get slung around until its contract time.

I totally understand that and I've never had to use my reps. What I'm talking about at least at my job is our pension, health care and guaranteed retirement.

We do. Water plant filters water to us, then we demineralize. Guy says they sre small chains of silica that aren't energized or something so our Demin trains cant filter them.

I'm local FD and we pretty much work as union brothers year round and not just at contract time. So I can understand a little animosity, however I have seen several times our local giant refineries on strike rallying together. I think our Motiva refinery is one of the largest in the states and they were on strike for a couple months last year or the year before and ended up with what they wanted I believe. There were a few scabs but they didn't last.

 

30 more minutes and its go time for me!
