welcome, i rant everyday..........problem is no one listens

 

Damn, sorry a couple you guys been i'll.
Nothing like feeling you been beat with a baseball bat and cold chills.

I had strep once a few years back. I spent 3 days in my garden tub with the jets going.

2 flippin hours left............................it is draaaaggggging

Hey Rich as sick as I was I would rather have, that then what you went thru a few weeks back with your tooth

 

I don't ever want to go thru that again.

Hope everyone is feeling better. No flu shot for me...cant remember if I have ever had a flu shot. Knock on wood.....ive been pretty lucky fighting off viruses this year.

 

I had a doctor tell me he thought flu shots for the general public was hit and miss at best. They make an educated guess as to which strain of influenza will impact a certain area and sometimes they get it right.

 

Its Friday!!!!! If I didn't have ten railcars to deal with I might do a happy dance...

 

I'm on what they call the DuPont schedule. 12 hrs. shifts and four rotations a month. I get a 7 day long change then back on days next Friday...

 

When I first started here I brought up the DuPont schedule and everyone about killed me Apparently everyone was real happy with the shift they are on and don't like change. Non-rotating compressed shifts it is. Days 1 and 2, and Nights 1 and 2. first half / second half of the week scheduling.

 

Ahh...gotta love stacking the vacation on the Long change! I do that as often as I can. So you got enough ammonia on hand? We ship that stuff to power plants all over the area...

 

I've been on this schedule for about 12 years now. From what I know by observation you can either hack it or not. I think it's really important to be healthy on a schedule like this. It doesn't kick my ass as bad it seems. Myabe I'm lucky...duty calls...

It has it's ups and downs. So far it has been good. The health thing is a true statement. I flip my sleep schedule every 3/4 days. Some days it catches up with me more than others.

 

Yes! Some switches are easier than others. But if you have, for instance, diabetes and you're not up on it, it will kill you. Or it will help lol.

 

Some of the plants have gone to aqueous ammonia over the anhydrous ammonia for insurance reasons. They have to use more aqua ammonia than the other stuff...go figure.
