That's why I've worked nights since I retired from active duty and took the civil service job... Keeps me out of the "reindeer games." I never was good at politically correct on active duty and I have even less patience for it the older I get.

Sounds like my shift last night, hang in there guys.

:anonymous: First night off of my long(3 day) break; stayed up all day to try and sleep tonight... Laid down at 9pm and woke at midnight wide awake ... So here I am.

Thats exactly what happens to me every weekend or day off. My wife doesnt realize i cant just flip a switch and be able to hit a normal sleep pattern. Im sure ill fall back alseep around my normal time of 730 then she will wake me up at 9 for something stupid, then complain that im too tired to do anything.

Your not alone there my friend. I've worked various shift schedules over the last 30 years... Fallen asleep many times at various movies or stupid events that I just had to go along too. Since retirement from active duty (last four years) and with boys grown and out of the house, she doesn't push as hard. If I don't want to go, I don't ... Occasionally get called a "Grumpy Old Man" ... I wear it as a badge of honor. :D

I'll do the same thing when I'm going to start back on nights I stay up the night before so I will sleep during the day. Sucks to wake up early then work a 12 hour shift!

That part does suck with the family. My wife and I work for the same company but she works straight days so we miss each other like that some days as well.

Wife and I have managed to keep the same days off, but we do "high fives" coming and going during the week. Some days we miss the "high fives" and go a day without seeing each other.

Ha nice Mark! I found something to do and even ended up working over because I wasn't at a good stopping point. That won't happen again...

Sunday night (tonight) is my "Friday" so with the extra turkey day off I won't be back until Friday night! :D :D

Years of military writing did the same for me. I think it has something to do with saying something with most words possible or saying the same thing a dozen different ways? :notsure: ;)
