    Why I stopped playing (paying) powerball...

    Drawings are held Wednesday and Saturday evenings at 10:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Since October 7, 2015, the game has used a 5/69 (white balls) + 1/26 (Powerballs) matrix from which winning numbers are chosen, resulting in odds of 1 in 292,201,338 of winning a jackpot per play.

    The odds of winning anything are way to long let alone the jackpot. Felt like I was just throwing my money out the window!
    Nice to dream though!

    and the odds of winning by not buying 1 ticket are: 0 :stirthepot:

    But that's why if I do play I usually pick my own numbers and get one ticket. Odds go up exponentially from 0 tickets to 1, but next to nothing after 1 ticket. :D

    It was so much easier to win the Powerball jackpot just a few ... odds were about 1 in 55 million when Powerball started in 1992.
    Actually had a hope of winning with those odds. But people weren't buying tickets because $15,000,000 wasn't enough:rolleyes: So they added numbers so jackpots would be bigger.
