Haven’t you seen wolf of Wall Street?

We’re subject to random testing but I’ve been here 10 years with not even the slightest threat of a test. Wish they would to thin out the herd and get some fresh go-getter blood in for these RODs.

    Touche

I'm guessing RODs are the same thing we called ROADs in the military: Retired On Active Duty. Guys that were in the last 365 days really of their 20 years.

    Same, same.

Supposed to be random people are tested. Couldn't figure out why the same people kept getting the tap on the shoulder.

Figured it was the company really did not want to find someone testing dirty.

For the longest time I couldn't figure out why testing positive was a bad thing. Isn't a positive a good thing?:anonymous:

Does anyone use an external DAC for the computer or just headphones? currently looking at buying 3 sets of JBL LSR 305 speakers.
One for the gaming comp which I game and use a 12 track recording studio. A set for my gaming laptop which currently the speakers are fubarred and want to use it for more studio work.
And finally a set for my tascam dp02 standalone 8 track recorder.

The speakers have absolutely rave reviews here.
    https://youtu.be/qOySstGCMRg

Now....I myself and not an audiophile of any type but I've seen enough reviews of external DAC devises to know I will see a significant change in sound.

Sweetwater has them on sale and so does Amazon. Some with extra cables or maybe isolators which I'm thinking I want for the Tascam, at $150 apiece.

I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but I was looking at them awhile back so I can watch TV late at night with headphones and get better sound and also for the PC. I was just looking at some sub $100 ones though just to try it out and see.

Im superstoked about getting one. I use a 5.1 Logitech system for my comp....and no lie, they are pretty good for the comp. After watching tons of vids on external DACs, I'm convinced I need one.

Also...the studio monitors that I use for the Tascam are M Audio super cheap or that I bought when I bought the recorder. They sound like your dragging a dead cow thru the mud.
Doesn't matter which guitar I use...they all sound the same with no mids, crappy highs.

I mean...just about everything you own has an internal DAC, but apparently there's interference in your phone, computer, whatever.
I think I need one, like now. Lol.

I have a really old Klipsch 5.1 system that I use as my pc setup. That thing still sounds amazing. I think I got it around 2004 ish.

When I was buying things for my Terabyte ipod build, most people say to get the 5th gen ipod as they have the best DACs of all the generations. I already had a 7th gen so oh well.

I'll be waiting your report on whatever you go with though

It's sad. There is simply nowhere to get a good breakfast burrito at 04:30 in the freakin' AM.

I'm alive, just keeping a low profile lately. Currently in AZ over the weekend for granddaughter's birthday party.

Hope all are well here. :)

Maybe that's an idea though, maybe there's a gas station here that does 'em?

And that's another thing about nights that's weird getting used to - the beer after work. It feels TOTALLY normal to me to have a beer after work; but the little lady sure gives me the stink-eye when I'm pouring a cold one at 7:30am.

Conversely, she looks at me weird if I'm grilling something at night and having an iced tea instead of having a beer with her.
