My quitting smoking experiment hasn't gone so well this weekend. I feel like this:



I guess I'll try again tomorrow. Just like Little Orphan Annie said, there's always tomorrow.

 

I struggle with it every day man. Just stay strong and never give up.
I've been smoking 35 yrs and I've prob tried to quit 500 times. I always try around certain holidays or birthday so I have a date I can remember to help remind me. Next try will prob be Christmas again.

We have a no tobacco rule here at work and I've been sleeping a ton, so those seem to be helping alot.

 

The sad part is, I'm not even really doing it for my health, it's more for the money. If I take this utility job and quit smoking, that's a $150 a week after taxes in my bank account. That's my truck payment a month.

We have designated smoking areas, but on night an evening shift everyone that smokes pretty much smokes wherever they want. I know if I could just make it through that first day, I'd be good to go. Every time I've quit before, it was the drinking that tripped me up. I've quit that.

 

Well, good on you for quilting alcohol.
I don't want to even add up what I spend on both.

 

I had to do that, I was spending $140 a week just drinking beer, at home, in the evenings. Buying a case of bud light daily. I was in a bad place for a few years. I've been sober for over 2 now, don't crave it. I know I'll have to keep my guard up for the rest of my life, and not put myself in a position to slip up.

 

Damn bro, that's alot of beer. You kicked some serious ass quitting that habit. I'm putting about 6 down every morning and I know that's going to have to go before the nicotine goes.

 

I've got some friends out in Stanbury, MO.
I keep trying to get out there to hunt but I'm usually out of vacay days before hunting season. Lol

 

Yeah it's almost impossible to quit smoking when drinking daily. I've got this weird thing about me, I don't do anything in moderation. I've gotten a lot better with that as I've gotten older. My motto was always work hard play hard.

 

Haha!! you sound alot like me. I don't have many irons in the fire but the few I do are balls to the fckn wall. Recently it's been guitars and guns. I need an intervention.

 

That's on the other side of the state from me, but they should have some nice White-Tail up that way, closer to Iowa.

 

I'm just now getting into guns lol, I wouldn't let myself buy any when I was drinking all the time. I seen the ones you have for sale, those are pretty nice. I bought a Benelli M4 last spring, and next year I'm going to get an HK45 I think. Guns are very addictive. I got into knives for a few months, then went directly to guns. I did buy a few really nice spyderco's.

 

Yea. I think their 7 yr old niece has a state record a few yrs back. She was on the cover of "Rack" magazine. I don't even remember the size but it was freaking huge.
