Really happy to pick up that 16 hrs OT last week.
As slow as it is around here....im starting to think it was a gift from a huge fck up that happened a few weeks back.

 

5 of 7, and I'm tired as F. Only slept 3 hours or so today. Hope we have a chill night.

 

Absolutely!! I work right next to the bay doors and it's kinda refreshing to walk out and watch the sunrise every single day. It's a new day to start fresh.

 

Snorkel brings all the babes to the yard though.

not working tonight, still trying to figure out why i went to bed at 2am sunday morning and woke up at 11pm. it kills me that i just wasted half of my weekend on another note, the new schedule bid for work as 11pm to 7am lines, trying to decide if i want to work that schedule for a couple months or not....

 

2am to 11pm? man, that's a good sleep!!

I woke up Fri nite about 6pm. Went into work at 2am sat morning and stayed up till 2am sun morning.

 

yeah, my kingdom for why that happens though, as i didnt even work crazy hours this week, just my normal noon to 9 schedule.

 

7 more hours for me. Going to try and sleep it off. Night guys. just wanted to drop in and say hi.

 

I did something similar a couple years back when I live across the street from the plant.
I was off work at 7am and in bed by 7:30am.
My alarm clock went off at 9:30 and when I woke up I remember thinking...."wow! I feel great. Was an awesome power nap".

Then I thought to myself...."I didn't set my alarm for 9:30....AM".

14 strait hrs....and time to go back to work.

Been watching for a while from our office; this world is seriously messed up.

 

That's fucking awful.

My wife and I have stayed there a few times, I'm in shock.

 

we go through active shooter training here but wtf difference does that make if we can't fire back...

 

this, in a nutshell. its something i point out to my coworkers at the airport all the time, TSA is just woefully underequipped to do anything about an active shooter, and by the time they do something, its too late. plus, even if we start funneling people onto the tarmac, theres no hard cover and no way for us to screen out or prevent the shooter from making thier way out there with everyone. the only saving grace would be if one of us baggage guys gets a lucky find breaking into somones gun case.

Edit: and that in itself bring about a whole host of legal issues, so were not likely to do it.

 

fortunately, we're pretty low-key under the radar here for what we do, and fairly decently fortified. someone coming here would have to have a purpose, not just a random target. imagine what that "companion" woman is feeling right now being the most wanted person in America....

 

yeah, that helps. weve already had a couple incidents this year at the airport that makes it feel a lot like someone is trying to gauge response times etc. and shes probably feeling the heat right now, as id imagine thats pretty much all the entire LA police department is going to spend thier day doing.
