Oops. Forgot to go to work tonight.

 

Hate it when I do that.



Wait...I'm not at work either.

 

Ya. 4 days left. That's enough to go home for Christmas. Burned thru them in record time this year.

 

I have a little over 2 weeks left.

Which is a month off for me.

 

I return to nights this weekend after a short stint on the DL. My hats off to all of you who worked that tragedy in Vegas.

 

That had to be one hell of a scene.

 

I forgot to go for the whole last month

 

I had around 140 hrs. Had to burn a few days before short term disability took over. I may have to burn more at the end... we shall see
I think I earn vacation while I'm out, but burning sick time.

 

We are required to use all personal business before short term kicks in.

On another note....just got called in to come in early tonight. Another first for me. Should be double time for 4 hrs till my normal shift kicks in at 11pm.

 

I get 160 hrs. now but it will go up in Feb. I never use it all. We actually get penalized by losing money for taking vacation. Be cause our salary is based on our overtime. So not only does you check go down for taking vacation so does your yearly salary. Sucks but no one seems to get how we work. We get paid holidays too on top of the vacation. It's only 8 hours for holidays because you know they can't figure out we work 24 hour shifts. lol

 

Been here for 40 mins. Part hasn't even left the vendor and it's 2 hrs away. Lol

 

We lose our shift premium when we use PTO. I pointed out that those hours were earned working third shift and if you only take 1 or 2 days you have to stay on schedule or you're to tired to work (safely) when you're back. I don't think anybody truly understands what it takes to work third shift unless they have done it.

 

In for 7/7. I'm ready for a couple days off, I haven't been sleeping worth a darn on this rotation of midnights.

 

back on nights 1/14 ouch. first one is always the hardest. had to fly to Wilmington NC tonight to snag the boat on its way north. I was spotting some local tacos last night at the boat yard where I caught the launch out.

Eighteen months on nights so far. Does the state of exhaustion ever go away?

 

Not if you keep trying to act like a daywalker and stay awake during the day. I notified my manager yesterday that I would like a 1st shift position when there is a opening (after I return to work).
