My shifter isnt as smooth as it used to be. I'm guessing I need to add some grease somewhere.

Any tips? What should I actually grease?

Never heard of greasing the shifter linkage, nor had it ever been done on any of the toyota's owned. These tacoma shifters are notchy....mine has always been the same from day 1.

Mine WAS nice. After it snowed this winter, it was noticably different. Truck only has 34k miles on it.

There were others with stiff shifters. Get under truck and lube it.Search and you'll find others talking about it.

If it did pick something up, my guess is that it's on the transmission end. I'll try to give it a look tomorrow. Thank for the picture.

I've been through a bunch of snow, and mud during the last 2 years, so far so good. I'll have to keep that cable in mind if the shifter acts up. My 2001 tundra, and older 4x4 toyota pickups must of been different as i never had a linkage issue.
