So this is the second time it's happend and I have no clue where it's from but I have what looks like grease down the passenger side of my truck. It looks like it was flicked on or something. It's thick like what they would use to pack bearings or something and it's sort of red/orangish in color. It's not in the wheel well as far as I can see and I just did my brakes and didn't see any similar stuff around the suspension. I'm stumped. Where the hell did it come from? Should I be worried? Is it from my truck or from the road? I know this is one of those "it could be anything" deals but thought I'd check and see if anyone else has had something similar. I'd hate for it to be from a bearing or something and screw something up.

does it look like it came from a bearing or thrown from anywhere on your truck. Or is it just on a body panel?

it's wierd, it's on my passenger quarter pannel behind the stock fender flare, and then behind my passenger door. Looks like it came off the spin of the tire the way its on there, but I can't find any in the wheel well or on the suspension...

Hmm, I would say its probably tossed from someone else. Also did you use any anti-squeal grease when you did the brakes, sounds like the color of that stuff

    getting there....
did you grease your driveshaft recently?? its possible that if so, there was a little too much grease that got slung off the drive shaft onto the tire, then onto the truck. just a thought.

I haven't really greased anything. I used a little bit of soft metal lube on the breaks but nothing like this. It's more like bearing grease or something. I think probably a drive by greasing or some uglier more inept truck was jelly so it snot rocketed some axel grease on my truck. I hope...

I think you'll be fine. clean it off and give the truck a good once over to make everything looks correct

jelly.. lol. What if the metal lube you applied was churned up with some break dust transforming it into something that looks like snot rocketed axel grease?
