Bought a mini-pistol grease gun. I have the plunger completely pulled and locked but the cartridge won't insert all the way. It seems to create an air tight seal half-way down the barrel and slides up. And I can't remove the seal on the cartridge or the grease comes out. What seems to be the problem here?

Can you remove the fitting on the end of the gun to release the pressure?

Yes, the plunger unscrews. With the plunger assembly unscrewed I can get the cartridge to fit but when I try to screw the plunger back on. It pushes the cartridge back out.

Can you unscrew the other side?

Yes, I got the the cartridge to insert. I've tried purging the air now several times and no grease is coming out.

I always had trouble with the mini grease guns too, finally got around to buying a full sized one.

I know it's messy, but the way around this would be to just fill the reservoir with grease and forget the cartridges. I've never had luck with the cartridges so this is what I do with both my full size and mini guns.

Full size guns are so much easier. Flexible tips are where it's at too

Yup, I've got 3 full size ones but I do have one mini one also. I use it only for my UCAs, I put a flexible tip on it. All of them are from HF but surprisingly they all have been working really well for me.

Can you post a pic of the cartridge you are trying to use?
