I have the basic prerunner package and I don't have the greaseable u joints and I was thinking of going to my local pepboys andthey sell replacement ones for 20 bucks but are they worth having that's my question

User serviceable wear items are always better to have IMO, but whether the pep boys parts are any better of a part and would outlast a non-serviceable factory one I do not know. Try them out and report back..........

I knew that and also less moving parts but wat bout performance like if you get an aluminum drive shaft and its lighter than stock would it make a difference

Exactly why I want someone else to try it out, for informational purposes for the future. Mine aren't having an issue and even if they do within the next 18000 miles, it'll be the dealership's problem anyway since I still have that much left on my drivetrain warranty:D

Yes, rotational weight makes a nice difference in acceleration. Doesnt add hp, but moves your hp/tq curve more towards the left.

The only reason for saying that is because my friends doing it on his truck and its a pain its something someone can do on there own but take your time on it I forgot to take pics but if you look online there's a lot of people that do it by themselves
