I've got one of those grease fittings that locks onto the zerk and it's great for everything but that "hidden" zerk under the thin shield.

It really wasn't that bad of a job. I just figured I could learn to make it easier for next time and make sure I'm not being stupid. Thanks for the input everyone.

It fits all of my fittings.(lock and lube) on my 2005. I've been using a grease gun for many years, if you have a stubborn grease fitting yes you do need to push on end of grease gun over fitting to get it to take grease sometimes. Sometimes using a rag over the end of the gun is needed to force grease into fitting. Lube and lock makes your life easier, also doesn't get stuck on fitting like mentioned in this thread

Yeah I did mine even in Park and was able to reach wherever the nipple was no issue with the flexible attachment

That little plate covering the rear joint of the front driveshaft is only two bolts. I just take it off, hit the grease fitting and then reinstall.

Yeah that's what I'll end up doing next time. The last time I used the lube and lock on everything but that one and just the regular flex head on my grease gun for that one.

Couple of things OP. If the tip is having clearance issues on the sides it may be hanging up some on the insides of the yoke. There are connecting tips with a smaller O.D. that helps on that fitting and the one at the very front of the front drive shaft. Also not all zerks are created equal. There are metric and SAE. The tip will hold differently (tighter or looser) if trying to connect to a zerk that is different than the tip was intended. Even though the ujoints are Dana/Spicer, the Japanese likely spec'd a metric zerk??
