Got under my 2016 TRD Sport 4X4 to check the u-bolts and grease zerks. U-bolts were at 37lbs and increased to 52 lbs. As for the zerks - only found two on the front drive shaft. The rear drive shaft does not have any zerk fittings, they look like sealed u-joints. Could that be?

Possible. All the u-joints in my 2011 Tacoma are not serviceable.

    Anything's possible...
There have been other Sport 4x4s that had zerks, so yours is different; how or why, who knows?
Maybe pull a part number and try to look it up.

The zerk fittings are in the caps on the rear driveshaft, unlike the fronts where they come out on a 90 degree zerk.

I did check the caps as I saw a photo showing that, but there are no zerk fittings on the 4 caps of the rear drive shaft.

I dont think you are the first person to bring this up. Did you recently get your truck? It sounds like they may have swapped some parts, switched assemblies over or made some sort of change recently...hmmmm. Maybe supply shortage?

    Man,
I was hoping to find this thread.
I jumped under my truck ready to grease up mine and could not find any.
I referred back to another thread for location purposes and still could not find.
Mine is a dcorsb built on 7/8
They look sealed for all intense and purpose

My DCLB OR 4X4 was built mid July and only has two zerks on the front shaft. I think they changed parts recently.
