At my work our gauges have to be calibrated ever 30 days. I'm very certain mine is accurate!

I'm talking about the ones at the car dealerships. They never get certified or calibrated.

Most everything aircraft related is held to a higher standard.

I recently built a 406 small block Chevy, and found out the hard way that the oil galley plug on the head mounting surface wasnt put back in. Hello 60psi oil squirt gun. I still make mistakes, and I'm a professional.

Trust me I understand everyone is human. But I was back in there to have a half a quart of oil drain out do to over servicing. It couldn't of been a worse timing to leave me full cap off.

That's the "when it rains, it pours" scenario. The story is only worth retelling because they left the cap off. If they had just overfilled it, you probably wouldn't have mentioned it. Every so often the shit does actually hit the fan, and there's shit everywhere. Usually the shit doesn't quite make it through the grille, and it's a smaller problem.

Be thankful you got a story out of it, and not a seized engine.

Sorry for what happened. I myself started as a lube tech for Toyota and made mistakes. I learned and grew and 21 years later still a tech. But one thing I'm told by my old Toyota shop is they go through alot of young lube techs. I'm not bashing but this is just how it is now. These young kids come I to the business thinking they can do anything. Some pay even thousands for school and told they are ready for the world and yet have no actual experience. My buddy says these guys only last about a month and then they hire again. It's everywhere in the industry. I always check before I leave the dealership.

That's what I'm going to do. They are going to change my oil once the differential is fixed. I'll lift the hood and check.

Years ago I had a 1996 T100 and I took to the dealer for service and I got home and both my rocker panels were crushed, so I went back because I knew it wasn't me and I approached the manager very calm and cool and he actually pulled the truck into the body shop and was able to pull them down on the body rack machine and took care of it, he said he only did it cause I talked to him very calm..

I had my 20K service done this past weekend and when they brought my truck down from the service garage and into the service drive out area. I walked around popped the hood and proceeded to check everything Oil,filler cap and any mess they may have made. Tech and service manager came over and asked if everything was okay I said give me a minute in checking. Tech goes you don't trust me I said no offense its unfortunate I don't trust anybody.

Exactly. Look back through all the posts in this thread alone and count the spelling mistakes, typos, grammar mistakes, punctuation errors… everyone makes little mistake once in a while. Maybe we're in a rush. Maybe we don't care. And while typing "peak under the hood" when you mean "peek under the hood" won't lead to engine damage, lets remember the adage about those that live in glass houses.

When I bought my 2015 they had my tires set at 55, took me a day or so to figure out why the truck felt so weird.

Having the cap left off is sloppy, but serious question here, is 1/2 a quart really a big deal on the 3.5 engine?

I started a thread about how the dealership overfilled my oil. It was the same dealership you mentioned, town & country of Charlotte NC. Based on this thread and mine I would recommend all to DO NOT GO THERE

i have had 5k, 10k and 15k services...Each time inspection sheet shows all tires were inflated to 29psi....but TPMS shows 32psi cold.....my gauge shows 29psi....I just monitor the TPMS.....Monday I noticed RR was at 30psi and rest were reading 34psi....looked and found fucking nail right in middle of tread.....Had Goodyear check it and pulled it out...Plugged tire and they filled all tires to 32psi....TPMS now reads 31 when cold.......

Bottom line: i was using tpms to monitor and it worked for me...

It definitely is nice to have. I had an accident happen a few min ahead of me an ran over some debris. I quickly switched to tire screen and watched. Checked when I got to work all was good
