    Simply outrageous.
got in touch with Toyota Customer Care today.
They said - Cobb County Toyota in Kennesaw, GA made notes on my case.
Basically turning the story around on me. I guess Im in the wrong for marking my oil filter & catching them in a lie.
Long story short-notes were made. No reimbursment of time & or $$ or Oil Change.
    Total BS.
After the fact I found several similar complaints online about the same service manager( Dennis Zullo) and the same service center at Cobb County Toyota in Kennesaw, GA.
    If I only knew ...
everyone beware- use this stealership/service center at your own risk.

    in the end...valuable lesson learned.

Dealers can suck... largely depends on the technician... I ask for the same one and schedule my appointments when he can do the maintenance. Sorry to hear about all these horror stories.

I learned this lesson when I was 17 years old. Took one of the family vehicles to the dealer for basic service and oil change (VW). For some reason I decided to check the oil when I got home... so I would know what fresh oil looked like on a dipstick I guess... and saw that it was still black. I couldn't believe it. Of course they claimed they had made an "oversight". No offense to you honest pro mechanics but I have never fully trusted any paid work since. Trust, but verify, is a good strategy to follow.

That won't work on my sons Camry... you only change out the "guts", not the whole thing.

My dad tells a story about when his mom took their for warranty service that included repacking the wheel bearings. He was allowed into the service area to watch (gives you an idea how long ago this was). The mechanic turned to my dad and said, "The only reason I'm doing this is because you're standing there watching." Insurance regulations, my ___!"

Yes, it's industry wide, and it's been going on for a long, long time.

Since we're talking stealership rip offs... how can I tell if my spiral cable actually was changed?

I will never go to another dealer for work.....i had a 2002 trans am that came with free oil changes, on one change i hear the fucktards in the back doing a burnout i look and my car is the only car in the shop, plus i knew it was mine from the exhaust sound....a few years later at a different dealer i take my g6 in to get a cel checked i asked several times if there was going to be a charge and they tell me several times there wont be a charge, sure as shit they check the code then try to charge me $80......no more dealers for me
