"ROAV" and "REXING" are cheaper clones I see a lot on youtube, but personally video quality leaves a lot to be desired. I think out of the box they're a great cameras, but over time I think it starts to degrade.. they might use the same processor, but probably a cheap lens that's not as focused or use glue to fix the lens once focused in the factory. Over time this comes undone with the heat an vibration of the car.

I've heard good things about Vantrue cameras as well, but I don't know anything about their support.

BlackVue is something i've vowed to never touch again - reliability issues, poor firmware and support

Garmin has improved their cameras and there's something to be said with the name, but I don't find their video quality a bit lacking

I got burned several year ago over a stupid accident that was not my fault, but because of a he said/she said insurance found me partially at fault. I take my dash cams seriously as i'm still bitter about what happened LOL

It was a huge thing. We basically came to a sudden stop due to a motorcycle wreck that had just happened. I was on the 110 southbound and if you live in CA , you know how curvy that freeway is. Anywho, after the accident it was basically looking to help out the man on the floor, if there was any witnesses, I didn’t even ask.

It was my mistake, we shall see what these insurance companies figure out

Not necessarily. Some idiot chick sideswiped me on the highway, admitted it and her insurance still refused to pay. My insurance company had to go into subjugation. I won. But still, insurance didn't see it the same way as the police report.

 

That's usually what they do, then they let the insurance companies sort it out.

 

This would have never happened if you had tss. So worth the wait for the 18. Would have paid for itself on this day

I bought my truck early 2016, there’s no way i would have waited till 18’s just for tss. Stuff is meant to happen and that was that. It sucks , but it is what it is.

 

TO REPORT BACK, my Insurance found the Prius driver 100% at fault!!!!
