I've made it from 130K to 145,000 miles in my 2005 without any issues after replacing the clutch kit and bearing. I think I fixed it, knock on wood.

this chirp drove me insane for many years, but what really drove me insane was actually the accumulator that made my clutch feel like shit everyday and worse on -30° mornings. my 05 has 366,000 kms and the chirp hasn’t changed since my last clutch job over 100k ago. well the accumulator finally started leaking and i’m deleting it once and for all. my updated slave rebuild kit that has been sitting on the shelf is being installed. if my tacoma still chirps, so what?

update for anyone who cares or for future reference. i did the slave upgrade.

the accumulator seemed impossible to remove so i left it in place. my flare nuts were rusted then busted. so i bent a new 50” brake line from my slave to flex hose under the hood.

the chirp isn’t entirely gone, but it’s so faint now and less chatter, my truck sounds almost brand new how quiet it is compared to before. easily the best upgrade of the entire time i’ve owned this truck.

the best part? my clutch feels absolutely flawless, like a clutch should.

Thanks for sharing, I think this is my next step. I have replaced the slave rebuild kit and did an oem clutch and the chirp came back in like 500 miles. So I did the urd sleeve and an upgraded clutch and flywheel and the chirp went away for about 20k miles but just came back. Such a great truck except for this one ridiculous thing.

Is it possible that I have too much free play in my pedal? Engagement is pretty close to the floor with a lot of dead travel after engagement. If I put pressure on the pedal just before resistance the chirp goes away.
