I bent my cam tab on one side. Is it still ok to drive? I am waiting for parts to arrive. I also hear a loud clunk noise when I turn/am going very slow. My guess is that its the lower bolts. But it also sounds like a rock stuck behind the shield..

Your alignment is probably screwed up but otherwise yes, fine to drive.

That bolt doesn't look like it's moving, if it is you'll see a mark where it's sliding.

A clunk could also be a blown bushing or ball joint. The latter is a safety issue.

Jack up the truck and shake the tire to see if you can replicate and find the noise.

Couple of my cam tabs have been bent a while but were bent by and buddy and I during an alignment using a little to much muscle. As long as the bolts are tight you can still align the truck and hold the alignment it's just a little more difficult without them. Now if you did that on the trail that likely means something moved a bit...check the torque on the outer bolt in the meantime to make sure it doesn't go anywhere further. A lot of shops including Toyota under torque them (should be 100ft/lbs)

    THanks for the notes!

If you see the above post, i also found out my wheel bearing is bad, which is probably causing the clunk noise i was hearing on the driver side. Just ordered a set from @nj636 . Hopefully will be able to get everything squared away soon

Just saw this as i posted haha. Definitely swap that out. But in the meantime you don't have to be fully worried about the cam tabs. One day soon I'll do the total chaos tabs as well, just need to find someone to put in the welding and air hammering time with me.

@nj636 and @BamaToy1997 make them still as far as i know. Makes it pretty easy to swap them out since you get the whole hub assembly pre done. Might as well do both. If one is failing, you know the other isnt far behind.
