Ill do a chop for now, but in the spring, ill do a relocate from @stlntaco

 

Should do the cmc on the frame before they install it. That would be easy!

 

You would not be able to touch the frame prior to the swap.
They even left off my front bumper because they wouldn’t cut the stock tow loop off so it would fit.

 

Oh yeah David, you’ll need tc cam tab gussets again. All these little things you don’t even think of!

Actually no, he won’t. The new frames have better welded tabs. I was gonna swap those out very early on after I got the new frame but there was no need. They actually “fixed” one of the shortcomings...

 

I have a new frame and still found the tabs less than adequate. Only some of the tabs had a little dot of weld behind it. I got the frame early 2017 though so maybe they changed it.

 

Mine was done in late 2017.

 

so many things will be welded/cut after i get it back.

CMC, i have Hammer Hangers ordered, have rear shock relocate (for much later ), maybe I'll eventually get the cam tab gussets again. They were not difficult to install. And ill be taking the LCAs out to anti-seize the bolts anyways

 

Btw what do they do with the old frame after? If they scrap it and don't need to investigate it further , see if they'll just let you cut the squares out that you welded to. Should be able to "ring" the plates with a grinder until you see a hairline crack and you won't loose that much metal.

 

Im sure they are going to scrap it. Im going to have evening removed before i drop it off

 

They scrape it after they remove the sn off it they need to prove to toyota it gets destroyed in a manner in which it can not be reused per recall letter. To get reimbursted for the frame swop.

 

How do people get the frames that I find on Craigslist? I guess they're not recall ones.

But im sure ive seen an 08 DCSB frame for sale for 3k
