I ordered new J hooks just to be safe.


So ive been hearing a clicking/tapping noise, I think from the driver side. Thats the vaguest description, i know, but thats all i can do. Anyways, I know its over 45mph, but havent paid more attention to any more details. Today, I thought i can hear it when turning too, but need to verify again. A quick YouTube search tells me, its the CV. I knew my boot has been slowly leaking grease for a while. Might be time to order a rebuild kit. And luckily I have 2 spares..

How is your tire balance now?? I just rotated my tires and ended up with a shitty vibrations 50-60ish mph. Got them balanced, and (just like at previous rotation) it took a crapload of weights to get them balanced. Btw my tires are 285/70/17 ST Maxx, ~35K on them

 

All tires were road force balanced, and all except one came back great. Driver rear had 52lbs of force. I didnt want to pay for them to dismount and remount to adjust it, but will monitor during next rotation.

Truck drives good now - tires wise. I need to get the ujoints in maybe on Sunday. Saturday is my birthday, and as much as I like working on trucks, that might be the one day that I don't want to..

Spicer 1310 ujoints installed. Non greasable, but i do need to get a needle grease attachment for part of the tom woods driveshaft.

what a pain in the ass job. Hope these last.

Note: used the brass snap rings. They were noted as the thinnest, but not sure about that..

 

Damn, I think they actually did a pretty good job with that one. I have never been a fan of hummers but that’s pretty cool.
