    I am actually headed up your way in about 2 weeks. Going from Hancock NY to Canada on only back roads/dirt roads/class IV VT roads. No major cities either. But on 2 wheels.

    Building a box/fridge slide. The setup I have now is good, but i dont have anything for the fridge. Its kinda just strapped in.

    I do need some ideas for 1/4" material (that isnt wood) to use for the sides of the box. I was thinking HDPE but pieces that are 24x23 are expensive.

    lexan and a vinyl layer for color?

    Edit: NM, thats even worse.

    Why avoiding wood? Some 1/4" ply is cheap and easy to work with, and can be painted easily.

    Just in terms of durability/water. I know i can stain it too.

    Whats in my box currently is a 3 ton bottle jack stand combo, some recovery tools, and a couple straps. Id think wood might bend with all that weight, and a plastic or hdpe might be stronger.

    I dont plan on standing on it.
