That's me that's running the steel cable with hawes fiarlead. That fiarlead is made for the steel cable. At least that's what it says on warn website.

Speaking of winch. What's a good size for a DCSB?

Well the HomerTaco grille didn't go at the meet for 250. 1 more week @ 250 and then it goes back up to 300 so if you are in the mood for a bad ass grille give it a look.

    Be Safe...

Hey gents. I'm on the North side of the big C and thought about trying to make the meet but being lazy and sleeping in until the start time doesn't work well. Guess I was beat. That and having an almost completely stock rig I'd of had to hang my head low.

A hawse is still fine & works. I just think if you had to winch at a hard angle it creates a lot of friction and could put a flat spot in the cable. THe cable is trying to get around a sharp corner at that point. A roller would help with that.

I was the only 1st gen there, and I've only got monotube shocks and a 1" lift so you would've fit right in.

Yeah my Taco is pretty basic too. It wasn't a Taco supreme like @Softtacosupreme's rig. That thing was cherry!

Oh god yes, I don't have the right or the authority but I'd like to go ahead and award @Softtacosupreme the "Best in show" award for the meet. It was all balls and glory, No fluff, and definitely gets used as a truck.

Everyone had nice trucks but that thing was TOO SICK!

I was about to ask if I am an endangered species on this board. Im new here and I was a little nervous after seeing like TEN 2nd gens and not a single 1st gen.

You have the hybrid. 0 Gen Truck with 1st Gen Motor and 2nd Gen Wheels
