I have wanted a Tacoma for a while. Mainly a 4wd Tacoma, all started with my dads 89 2dr 22re 5spd. I never thought I would get one, one day me and my dad was riding through town and a nice Toyota was sitting on the lot. I came home with it that day, left my first truck behind but this one is what ive wanted. 2003 Tacoma 4wd 5spd 2.7l Imperial Jade Mica
Right when i got it home. 9/6/14

After driving it for a month or so the check engine light came on. O2 sensor Then a couple weeks later it came back on, now the afr sensor. Changed them out. Third thing I did was exchanged the oiled K&N filter for a fram paper filter.

First time messing around with it in South Ga on a couple dirt roads.

I was tired of not being able to see at night, so I browsed around on the internet and found bulbs that had good ratings. Sylvania Silverstar ZXEs They are really white. After I put them in, people started flashing their high beams at me, didn't know why. I got behind my friend with a Tacoma 4" lift on 33s and my low beams was shining into his back glass. So I got into a old parking lot and aimed them. Whole lot better than stock by the way.

I got tired of the chipped silver wheels, instead of black I did them a metallic gun metal color.

Couple days later I decided I didn't want a chrome grill, color matched the grill and emblem (shouldn't have done the emblem). While I was at it, the driver headlight filler piece was gone. So I bought one and painted it, threw it on.

Since my truck is a 5spd and I pull my zero turn lawnmower a good bit, I did the 2lo mod. It really does help with backing up my steep and long driveway.

All my friends have sub woofers, so I thought id join the crew. Started out with a 2000w wiring kit, 200w amp (all I had funds for), and a Sony Xplode 12 inch sub. Made my own box, but my buddy blew the sub up while trying to get the settings right. So, my other friend had a 1000w peak amp he sold to me for $40 and I bought a JL Audio 12inch sub. Im pretty happy with it.

This is the most recent setup. Everything is green but my clock, hoping to find someone that wants to swap one day...

I knew I wanted accent lights, I started out with 5mm orange leds throughout the cab. One day I decided id add a couple more, they all quit working. So I tore them out and got 19.5" green led strips. Best way to do it. Got 2 4" led strips from O'Riellys, put one under my radio and one in the glove box. Also did my dash.

They are the brightest superbrightleds.com had, which are a little on the bright side.

    As it sat 11-10-15.

Shrockworks front bumper (ordered it 6-19) 3-4 month wait
    And its here

Painted the bumper black and finally got 17x9 moto metal mo970's 970s with really cheap mts. Atturo trail blade mt

When I was down in South Ga one day, thought id go for a ride down the dirt road. Forgot it had rained the whole week. It got a little muddy, this was also when I ran with no mud flaps to see how I liked it. I put them on after a week cause I found a paint chip.

DAAANG! Nice looking truck! I have the same thing but a 2001! I love the Jade Mica! thanks for the build thread. How did you do the wheels? I really don't like the chipped ugly silver on mine either.

    Thanks man.

    For the wheels:
    Cleaned them up
Sanded them down with 600 grit I think.
    Cleaned again
Used self etching primer (I did 2 coats)
paint of choice (I did 3 coats)
I let them dry for a day before I put them on.

So guys, I'm needing an opinion. My wheels are gunmetal, and someday my emblems will be. Im wanting 17 inch wheels but they don't sell many gunmetal color wheels and I'm very picky. The bumper below is what I've ordered and I got it bare steel. It will need to be panted, so should I paint it gunmetal or a black semi gloss. I might even buy wheels that I like and paint them gunmetal.

    All opinions are welcome.

Gunmetal bumper would look good I think.

Im liking the gunmetal look all over. I think it looks better with the green than black does... unless you went with more of a powder coated flat black look. IMO. Anything with that bumper is gonna look sick!

want to see the pictures details of the inside, somewhere I read the materials of 01-04 are different quality than 98-00 ( cheaper) but don't know if is true ?

Nice truck you got there.... what I heard is the 03 is the best of all on the 01-04 range, and not, is not to much what you paid to a dealer price because is TRD and 4x4 yeahhh!!! :oldglory:
