Second time this has happened to me... turn the truck on, shift to drive, and the light doesn't illuminate. the other lights work just fine, it's just drive that won't light up. turned the truck off and back on, works fine. any thoughts?

Trade it for a manual transmission truck?

No warranty. It'd be a pretty difficult problem to reproduce, as it's only happened twice.

Also - I loved my old manual, but I get into too much traffic now, it just doesn't suit me. I'm just wondering if I may have a sensor going bad, or if it's more serious. The transmission works just fine whether the light is on or not.

This happened to me a few weeks ago for the first time. I slapped it over to D4 (or is it D3 - whatever it is from D, then to the left). Then back over to D. And the "D" illuminated. It hasn't happened since. I'm still under warranty and if it happens again I will take it in.

This happened to me a few times and shifting in and out of gear made the light show. It hasn't happened in a long time now that I think of it.
