I purchased my 2003 Toyota Tacoma Limited Double Cab back in the summer of 2013. It now has about 218,000 miles on it and is running strong thanks to some preventative maintenance like the Timing belt and water pump. I have also replaced an O2 sensor due to a check engine light and spark plugs and Valve cover gasket among a few other parts. I am one of the founding members of the Low Country Land Cruisers, a Toyota enthusiasts club based out of Charleston, SC and own a few Toyota 4 wheel drives. My first Toyota was a '94 Xtra cab Minitruck that I started wheeling in 1997. I also own a 1985 4runner and a 1999 Land Cruiser currently.

When I bought "Silver" it was pretty much stock except for the 265/75r16 BFG All Terrains that are still on it. It also had an Extang Tonneau cover over the bed.

Since then, I have done a few mods:

    • TRD exhaust that I bought used. It adds a nice throaty sound to the exhaust and is stainless steel.
    • Blue LED instrument panel lights
    • Dual 6.5" LED lights on the tow bar wired to an OTRATTW DPDT switch using an ARB wiring harness that allows the lights to come on in Reverse and independently.
    • A Sony XAV-W650BT Double DIN DVD receiver
    • SAS 10" Amplified Bazooka in the rear floorboard
    • 231 mm Tundra Big Brake upgrade utilizing junkyard calipers and 1 rotor from a Sequoia w/ a new Toyota rotor and Wheeler's stainless steel brake lines
    • Kobalt Aluminum tool box
    • Bushwhacker tailgate protector
    • Ultragauge digital gauge and OBDII diagnostic tool
    • ARB winch bumper installed using the frame end reinforcement
    • Warn 9.5xp winch

This is the Bushwhacker tailgate protector installed to hide scratches and protect the tailgate from damage. It installed easily with 3M tape and looks great. IMG_0940.jpg

"Silver" has only been on one wheeling trip so far. We went camping with the Low Country Land Cruisers at Hurricane Creek Rd right off I-40 near Asheville. The truck did really well on the rocky trail into the campsite and we had a great time!DSCN2713.jpg

I also have black and gray Wet Okole seat covers installed on the front row seats. They cover the torn leather on the driver's seat and are really comfortable and well fitting.

I'm hoping to add 883s and Dakars with some 285 BFG KO2s in the near future.
