I stumbled across this website tonight while I was doing a search on how to install step bars myself. I should have known a place like this would exist. We just purchased a 2017 TRD Sport Double Cab Long Bed with Tec package for the hubby. I only want it to haul an R-Pod around North America next year. We're looking to add step bars and some kind of heavy duty roof rack so we can mount 4 kayaks on top of the cab so suggestions welcome! We're a family of 4 located at the base of the Cascade Mountains in Bend, OR. We love to travel all over the world and decided it was time for some domestic travel now.

I'd rather not think of all the $ spent :(
Welcome to TW. Definitely go to CVT. They have several brands of racks and great customer service!

Thanks! I used to mush dogs in Alaska many moons ago. I miss it. Driving the Alcan will be one of our first trips so the family can see where I grew up :)

@Twinkie0311 I appreciate the offer! I hate to pay someone to do something that I can usually figure out myself but a little friendly guidance is always appreciated. The hubby isn't as handy but he's learning so I'm trying to show him how to customize it from the ground up to suit his likes.

No problem. We have a lot of knowledge in the group some more than others. I got a few of the members always teaching me things. Plus it never hurts to save the money you'd pay someone to install it.
